I am a lifelong resident of LaPorte County. Graduate of LaPorte High School and Ball State University. I have been married to my wife Jami, formerly of Michigan City, for 17 years and we have two daughters, Riley and Ryin. I began my career at the Sheriff's Office in 1994. I am 42 years old and I am currently in my 20th year at the department. I have experience in multiple areas such as the jail division, patrol division, detective bureau for 11 years, and currently a Sergeant supervising the midnight patrol shift. I have been a firearms instructor for the past 15 years for LaPorte County Sheriff's Office as well as at the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in Plainfield, IN. I am a career FOP member and currently a member of the Michigan City Dunes Lodge #75. I am a member of the Polish Falcons, Moose Lodge, and a former 4H 10 year member and still actively involved in 4H with my girls. Over the years I have volunteered in my daughter's classrooms discussing safety issues with children. I also spent several years as a volunteer coach with the LaPorte YMCA for various sports teams.

My main focus of this campaign has been a "Return to Civility". People always ask me "What does a Sheriff do?" The Sheriff manages the men and women of the department to include the jail division, patrol division, and the civil division. A sheriff should be accessible, accountable , and most importantly approachable to the public. I think approachability is what sets me apart from the other candidates.

You can have all the experience in the world but we need a sheriff that can connect with people in order to bridge the gap between law enforcement and the public. Being sheriff isn't about politics or who your friends are, it is about working. Working to keep your community safe. Working to make sure rules are followed. Working to assure that the right things are always done and that's what I do.....I WORK!  This campaign is not about me, it is about us. We need a sheriff that can connect with the community in order to solve LaPorte County's problems .
